Birds of Geek formed in July 2006 when Amy and Denise decided it was time for a second female comic book podcast, the first being Lene Taylor's "I read Comics".

Amy and Denise met on the Comic Geek Podcast Forums, which now hosts their forum too along with many of the other "CGS spinoff podcasts"

Birds of geek is proud to be part of the UK Comics Podcast Network. The UK Comics Podcast Network was formed by the dynamic duo at Geek Syndicate, the merry men at Quiet! Panelologists at Work and of course us girls at Birds of Geek. With this we began the UK comics podcast trinity
